Avoid using DocLocker or other critical services such as Internet Banking at Internet Cafes, Libraries, and other public sites. If such public sites are not secure, your critical passwords and information could be copied and abused
Lock it, Don’t Print it
Don’t print unnecessary copies of your critical information if not needed. Keep track of all hard copies – think about your document security before clicking print
Keep your Computer Secure

Be Aware of Online Fraud
Phoney websites designed to trick you and collect your critical information are a reality. Links to such websites are contained in email messages claiming to come from a legitimate organisation. Try not to click website links from an email - always enter the known web address in your web browser to link to critical sites such as DocLocker or your Internet Banking websites
Regularly Change your Passwords
Change your passwords at least every 3 months. DocLocker recommends you change your password every 6 weeks

Protect your Computer with a Password

Disable the ‘AutoComplete’ Function Within your Browser
The ‘AutoComplete’ function remembers data you have entered – this can include passwords. Your web browser’s Help function will show you how to disable the ‘AutoComplete’ function, to prevent others from seeing your personal information
Only Provide Bank Information During Secure Sessions
Always purchase online during secure transaction sessions. During any purchase process, look for secure purchase information that should be displayed on screen. If in doubt, don’t purchase
Never Send Sensitive Information by Email
Information included in an email is at risk of being intercepted by unauthorised individuals. Keep your information secure in your DocLocker
Be Wary of Opening Unexpected Emails with Attachments
Viruses are commonly spread via emails, which can send copies of themselves to everyone in an infected computer’s address book. This means it could appear from someone you know. Never open an email attachment that contains a file ending with .exe, .pif, .vbs as these are commonly used with viruses. Any file that appears to have a double extension is almost certainly a virus and should be deleted immediately.
Passwords
Passwords are critical to securing your online accounts. Here we give you a few simple tips to keep you protected:
Never Share or Write Down your Password
Never write down or share your password with anyone, no matter how well you may know them. Do not send your password via email, text message or fax
Be Unique and Never Personal
Try and create passwords that are unique and not easy to guess – avoid using personal passwords that are easily guessed such as partner’s names, children’s names, pet’s names or birth dates
Use Letters, Numbers and Symbols
Passwords containing upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols are far harder to guess than complete words. Never use complete words – especially words that can be found in the dictionary.
